How this works

Verification asks whether citizenship already passed to you automatically and if you can prove that beyond any doubt. Simplified naturalization can remain available through Hungarian ancestry/origin when that automatic chain broke somewhere along the way, or if documentation is lacking. Along the way, this quiz explains the actual dates and legal triggers it's checking — October 1, 1957 (the sex-neutral transmission cutoff), September 1, 1929 (the emigration-loss cutoff), and the marriage, paternity, territorial-change, and document-chain rules that historically changed the outcome.

Marriage

When marriage itself is the claimed basis, the quiz routes qualifying cases to simplified naturalization: generally 10 years married to a Hungarian citizen, or 5 years plus a common child, with the other statutory requirements including Hungarian.

Documents

A Hungarian birth certificate is valuable but is not by itself proof of citizenship. The quiz separately scores citizenship evidence and the generational document chain.
